CPL

Commercial Pilot License is a license that allows the person to serve as a pilot in the aircraft which runs commercially. A commercial pilot flies those aircrafts which are used by the normal passengers for travelling from one place to the other.

The commercial pilot gets paid for doing the same. The job of a commercial pilot license holder includes several responsibilities like flying an aircraft, fixed schedule flights, crop dusters, rescue operations, not only that one can also fly charter flights in case of an emergency plan.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a license offered by DGCA that allows students to act as a Pilot in Command of any aircraft and get paid for that.

A candidate must clear 5 DGCA subject papers and must have 200 flying hours under his belt, to get a Commercial Pilot License issued.

Candidate Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 50% aggregate for SC/ST candidates.

The following subjects are the part of Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course:-

  • Air Regulations
  • Aviation Meteorology
  • Air Navigation
  • Technical General
  • It is valid for 5 years which can be renewed after giving some tests. The CPL license issued is valid internationally and a candidate can be employed as the pilot in Government, civil, private airlines, corporate companies, and flying clubs in various positions.
